The Trinity Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is responsible for preparing the church each week by preparing the altar, making ready for Communion, and caring for the vessels and linens after the service. They also make simple bouquets from the altar flowers on Sundays, which are given to parishioners or others. Twice a year, usually before Christmas and Easter, the entire Altar Guild gathers together to polish silver and brasses in the church.
This is quiet work, and those who offer it, usually in pairs, find it deeply meaningful. Trinity has dedicated Altar Guild members who serve with reverence and joy!
Anyone is welcome to join the Altar Guild. Just talk with any Altar Guild member, who can be found after church in the little room to the right of our altar - the sacristy. It may look like they are washing dishes, but what they do is a service to God. They'd love to have you join them!
Let the church office know if you would like to join the Altar Guild and they will get you in contact with the Altar Guild coordinator.
Gracious God, we thank you for the joy of ministering at your altar. Grant us the grace of humility that we may honor you.
